Tulipmania as told by Truffles

These pictures were actually from March, as modeled by Truffles.

Last October - on a whim - I brought back a bag of tulip bulbs from Amsterdam. It was a varietal called ''Rembrandt''. No doubt so to better attract the souvenir seeking tourist such as myself.

The year before we had planted tulips and it was a complete disaster. Those didn't get eaten by squirrels were weak & limp. Well, this time we were armed with a fancy Smith & Hawken bulber (thanks to gift certificate from Troy & Megan) + anti-squirrel wisdom from Don Mcquinn (er, throw a net over it).

5 months later, voila! Over 50 beautiful tulips in our very own backyard :-)
